Jon Robinson, Private Investigator.
There is a new advertisement for a North Queensland Private Investigator, a Townsville and Cairns investigator, and a website www.infidelitytest.com.au. The investigator is named Jon Robinson, '25 years as Queensland's Leading Investigator'. Note the spelling, this is Jon Robinson in Queensland, NOT John Robinson, investigator, in NSW. I am aware that I have, and other North Queensland investigators have, years more investigative experience and training than Mr Robinson. 25 yrs ago I was relieving OIC of a CIB! I did phone and challenge him on this, the answer was not that hospitable.
Now, given that Robinson says he's the best in North Queensland, and being doing investigations for 25 years I would suspect he is the same Jon Robinson who was in the Redcliffe area, when he lost his licence over the corruption of two Police detectives, and the sale of information illegally obtained. https://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/redcliffe-detective-couple-plead-guilty-to-supplying-information-to-wifes-private-investigator-brotherinlaw/news-story/7e4cfa8277b3a3bfe6ceb6c022ea9cc4 .
Given that he has a high PI number I would suspect he finally got his licence back... myaccount.news.com.au/sites/couriermail/subscribe.html?sourceCode=CMWEB_WRE170_a_GGL&mode=premium&dest=https://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/crime-and-justice/private-investigator-fails-to-have-licence-reinstated/news-story/73786bd1b89af671bf00b167d0125ebc&memtype=anonymous
Perhaps a few questions about integrity and honesty may be in order, if seeking to hire this gent. This was the outcome for the Police, published by the Government http://www.ccc.qld.gov.au/news-and-media/cmc-media-releases/former-police-officers-sentenced-for-leaking-confidential-information-2014-26.05.2014
Robinson also ran a 'closed' Facebook site, where people could lie and slander other investigators, with impunity. I should know because another investigator, in another State, did something dodgy, then manouvered us, and tried to scam us for the cost of an investigation which had been mishandled, where they did something illegal, and then tried a fraudulent claim. Robinson's closed Facebook system happily attacked us (I wasn't a member, but got the info read out over the phone by other investigators, who didn't want to get involved, because that Facebook page influenced their obtaining jobs, at that time), which caused a snowball for us. Yes, given that history I am just returning the favour, he did us a lot of damage. I contacted him at that time, he told me he didn't care, the page was there to sell his gear to investigators, anyone can write what they want, that was their problem (he also wouldn't give me a direct copy). He blocked me from accessing.
I would suspect Robinson can rightly claim to have had experience other investigators haven't; being responsible for two Police officers corruption charges and dismissal is amongst those things, but the claim that he is the 'Most skilled investigator in North Queensland: Its not even close' would appear to be a very big stretch, given the experience and knowledge of some of the other investigators in North Queensland. I would question the ethics, and confirm if he is, as I suspect, the same Jon Robinson. I sent him a text to try and find out, and he sent one back saying he knows who I am, and doesn't care what I think.
He is amongst the opposition you're up against in private investigation work, where people ask why you can't obtain information someone else could; saying what they did was illegal doesn't cut it, for some. Few solicitors know how to ask the right questions, about how people came by information.
There is a private investigator John Robinson in the Newcastle area who is an honest, and ethical, investigator. This is not him.
We all make mistakes, most of us don't get every job perfectly right, but to have that history, over a length of time, the stories other investigators can tell relating to this gent's actions, and to have obtained contracts based on the 'ability' to obtain information no one else could, selling illegally obtained information to council's etc (because you were corrupting others, inducing them to break the law), isn't a recommendation. To then make the claims he does in his website, it goes further than 'puff', and insults every other investigator!
If it is the wrong Jon Ronsinson I apologise, and will undoubtedly hear from him; I did try to ask, but 'London to a brick' it is the same one, the name is the same, the investigator licence number is so high, and the attitude when questioned the same, so be cautious.
